Who is trailview?

Background

Trailview was formed in 2017 with the specific intent to develop a new type of neighborhood in Whitefish, Montana. We wanted to develop something uniquely designed for locals – people who actually live and work in and around the Whitefish area. We, too, live and work in and around Whitefish and it was important to help create better opportunities for those who already contribute to making the area as special as we know it to be. Trailview is 100% privately funded and financed locally with American Bank.

In 2016, the City released the “Whitefish Strategic Housing Plan” to address the growing needs of affordable housing for our local workforce. Hence, we set out to identify and develop real estate within Whitefish specifically for that purpose. Some of the requirements for the property included:

• walkability and access to downtown retail and entertainment

• access to trails and recreational fields

• proximity to schools, medical facilities, and other core resources

• potential for growth

We were fortunate to find such a location that provides practically everything we were looking for and all within minutes of every requirement we identified.

Goals

Once completed, the expectations for Trailview will move from the developers to the homeowners. The goal for Trailview is to become its own community with a unique personality and style entirely its’ own. That is the one thing a developer can’t provide. We expect the residents to improve on the structural value with human value – to make it theirs, to make it safe, to make it enjoyable, and to make it their home.
